Boxing Defined

Guzman by Unanimous Decision

Joan “They Sycuan Warrior” Guzman (28-0, 17 KOs) out-worked Humberto “Zorrito” Soto (43-6-2, 27 KOs) to win via a 12-round unanimous decision last Saturday at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Fighting out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Guzman successfully defended for the second time his WBO Junior Lightweight title over the fighter from Los Mochis, Mexico – Soto. Soto is ranked number 2 by WBC, number 3 by WBO and number 4 by WBA.

All judges have it in favor of Guzman. The scores were 117-11, 118-110 and 117-111.

The boxing bout was promoted by Sycuan Ringside Promotions, Golden Boy, and Top Rank, and was televised on HBO Boxing After Dark.

Guzman was simply to fast and slick for Soto. Guzman wants Manny Pacquiao to be his next opponent.
