Guzman versus Soto

Joan “Little Tyson” Guzman 27-0 (17) from the Dominican Republic now fighting out of Brooklyn, New York, defends his WBO junior lightweight championship against Humberto “Zorrito” Soto 42-5-2 (26) who is fighting out of Tijuana, Mexico.
The fight will be held at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Top Rank’s Bob Arum who is co-promoting the bout with Golden Boy Promotions. The bout will be broadcast on HBO’s Boxing After Dark.
Vargas versus Mayorga
November 23, Friday
“Ferocious” Fernando Vargas (26-4, 22 KOs), a two-time world champion, will face Ricardo “El Matador” Mayorga (27-6-1, 22 KOs), a three-time world chamption at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. The bout that was originally scheduled last September 8 was moved to November 23 because Vargas was suffering from iron deficiency.
The boxing match is promoted by Don King Productions and Main Events in association with STAPLES Center.
Their upcoming bout had been aptly dubbed “The Brawl” after a highly contentious confrontation between the fighters erupted at the initial press conference announcing the event in Los Angeles and again at a subsequent press conference in New York.

Boxing, which is also called prizefighting or sweet science, is a contest to test the skills between two people of similar weight attempting to hit each other with their glove-protected fists, at the same time trying to evade getting hit by their opponent in a series of one to three-minute interval called “rounds”.
